“With no annoying distractions, I’m almost finished with my novel. Solitude suits me.”
Wednesday Addams

Welcome to What Do You Mean, Wednesday? — my weekly blog series inspired by the blunt brilliance and quiet strength of Wednesday Addams.

I have missed talking to you guys (whoever actually reads these).

To be honest, I am not sure how many people read our blogs or listen to our podcast. Yet, we (well mainly Bre these past couple of months) still continue to do it.

Why? Because we love God, we love writing, we love podcasting, we love looking for God in our everyday moments, and we love documenting all of this.

I also love reading other people’s writing/blogs. I have ever since I was younger. And if I found someone with a blog like ours growing up… well I would just be over the moon excited.

Because I like to think we talk about real stuff… body image, boys, beauty standards, academics, career pressure, growing up, etc. All the things that young girls face.

Now, do all girls think about these things as deeply as we do? Most likely not.

But in the midst of our deep thinking minds and at the end of the long road that is our train of thought, we always find ourselves at the feet of Jesus.

And if we can help others do that, too, the winding and sometimes thorn-stricken road is definitely worth it.

Sometimes, I get in my head about writing because I don't want to come off as saying I execute my ideals flawlessly or that I have it all figured out (duh bailee- no one thinks that).

Although neither of these things are true, I have decided to show up and express my thoughts anyways. Because my writing isn’t meant to showcase my perfection, but Christ’s, and it is a space that can grow with me as I journey through life.

Tune in for a new series I’m calling What Do You Mean (WDYM) Wednesday

Yes, these will be posted on Wednesdays. But I also called this series this because my nickname from my dad is Wednesday.

Ever since my dad discovered the character, he has said I remind him of her — not just in appearance, but in spirit. I’m a little intense, reflective, stubborn in my convictions, and not afraid to challenge expectations. So this space is where I get to lean into all of that.

Here, my reflective, curious side will meet my faith — a place where I wrestle honestly with what it means to follow Christ in a world full of pressure, performance, and pretending. It’s not about being dark for the sake of mystery, but about being sincere, thoughtful, and grounded in truth.

Each week, I’ll write about something real — faith, identity, body image, comparison, purpose—and pair those reflections with Scripture and a few quotes from Wednesday Addams that echo what I’m learning, unlearning, or still figuring out.

I’ll weave together the sharp wit of Wednesday with the steady hope of Jesus, offering a space to explore beauty, brokenness, and everything in between.

This space is a tribute to anyone who’s been called too fierce, too quiet, too bold, or altogether too much.

I’ll question what needs questioning, shake the silence, and hopefully make you laugh a little.

Join me in diving into all the messy, beautiful parts of growing up… with a little help from my inner Wednesday Addams 🖤

What do you mean, Wednesday? Let’s find out.

First post drops on Wednesday, May 28.

I hope you enjoy this new series for Wednesdays, by Wednesday (Bailee).
