Heyyy everyone!! Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this! It means the world! šŸ‚ā˜€ļøšŸ¤Ž

So far on the blog, I have shared a lot of spiritual, deep messages, which I LOVE. but I wanted to share something a little more light-hearted today šŸ’–

I thought I'd share the pros and cons of being a twin !!! We get asked questions about our experience being twins all the time, so I’m excited to share some of the pros and cons because there’s plenty of both hehešŸ‘Æ

We’ll start out positive:

THE PROS

  1. I always have a friend.

Growing up, I never had to worry about ever being alone at school or out of school because Breanna was always with me !! Her friends were my friends and vice versa. (The same is true today!) There have been a couple times when some silly girlies have tried to break our sista bond, but luckily they never succeeded šŸ˜‡

2. Two sets of EYES & EARS.

Breanna and I are the type of twins that are very similar in many ways. In high school, we did all the same extracurriculars, typically had officer positions right above/underneath each other, took the same classes, etc. Because we did all these things together, there were rarely times that we skipped a beat because if one of us didn’t hear or understand something well, the other one did!

In other words, if one of us isn't on our "A" game, the other one probably is-- & we motivate each other. Now when we're both on our "A" game, the world better watch out šŸ˜ˆšŸ˜Ž

This was pretty helpful when it came to studying together! Unfortunately, Bre took the dub in high school and finished 1st (to the fault of precal) but I never let her forget that I was Valedictorian in junior high.

In college, we are both majoring in Nutrition and are taking some pretty tough classes *cough, cough* CHEMISTRY but it’s been so helpful to have a study buddy 🧪

Also, in college we literally have the same schedule except for two classes, so I have always Bre to walk with me. Bre may or may not have saved me from getting run over by a bus on a few occasions 🤠🚌

3. Accountability Partner!

Breanna and I always keep each other accountable. We are both naturally achievers and we don’t really like the other one being better at things than the other- particularly when it comes to academics.šŸ““

So, we always did our best on everything because never wanted to be showed up by the other one LOL

THE CONS

  1. Differentiating each others strength can be a struggle

This had definitely been a struggle for the both of us. Each of us struggles with it more during different seasons of life.

Being so similar to Bre is great, but it has also made me question what my own individual purpose is. Still working on that answer! Hehe 🄰

Something that has helped us differentiate between our individual strengths and weaknesses is the Enneagram Test- I’m an Enneagram 3 & Bre’s a 6.

Bailee:

  • Enneagram 3 The Achiever

People with an Enneagram Type 3 personality tend to be ambitious, adaptable, and enthusiastic in their behavior. They are driven and love to set and accomplish goals. They tend to adjust their roles, actions, and expressions to every setting or people-group in order to best fit each environment.

  • More creative/artsy

  • Stronger in reading and writing

  • Sometimes referred to as the ā€œmeanerā€ twin

  • Distinguishing factor: long nails & a choker :) šŸ’…

Breanna

  • Enneagram 6- The Loyalist

People with an Enneagram Type 6 personality tend to be engaging, hard-working, and responsible in their behavior. They want to feel safe and tend to be concerned with outside threats. They are very loyal and want to build close relationships with others.

  • More ā€œgo with the flowā€

  • More science/math-minded

  • Very indecisive

  • More of a guilty conscious

  • Sometimes referred to as the ā€œnicerā€ twin

2. People always group us together

We are known by a lot of people as ā€œthe twinsā€. Which is good, but it also hard on us sometimes - basically going back to the whole differentiating our strengths thing.

In college, a lot of people have asked us how to tell us apart and we really don’t know what to tell them besides Bre is a TAD bit taller and we have different personalities once you really get to know us.

Our closest friends can tell us apart easily, so it is possible we like to assure people!!

Overall, I’d say the good definitely outweighs the bad, and I know that God hand-picked each of us to be here together for a reason! He knows what he’s doing.

*Disclaimer: All twins are different, this is just our personal experience šŸ˜‚

"Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV

šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’—
