A few things on my heart!

Hey friends,
Last week, I was not able to get a blog post out because of the busyness of college, but today, I have a few things I want to remind you of.
First off,
In honor of spooky season, I have to tell you a funny little story from this weekend. After doing lots of chemistry homework on Saturday, my sister, my cousin, and my mom and dad all went to a haunted car wash. This is a fun tradition we started last year, and I'm so glad we did.
The idea of it sounded so fun. I was so excited to get a break from chemistry and hang out with the people I love. But as we neared the car wash, fear began to sneak in. Not anything too crazy, but the sense of unease was definitely there. However, my parents reminded me that I was safe inside the car with the doors locked and windows up. The people trying to scare me could not reach me even if they tried (which they definitely did😂).
This concept reminded me of the following verse:
Psalm 56:11"In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

In Christ, you have absolutely nothing to fear. Romans 8:39 says, "neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
How often do we forget that? If you're anything like me, VERY often.
This leads me into my next point: the lies of the enemy. The Bible say that the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. The devil only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10) How terrible!
Just like everyone else, I am guilty of not taking every thought captive before the Lord and trusting Him with every aspect of my life.
Throughout my first semester at A&M, I have struggled with believing in myself and my God-given abilities. I have found myself fearful, confused, and full of doubt on way too many occasions. I think all college students can relate to this on some level. This weekend, however, my sister and I were talking and the discussion somehow led to us googling ourselves. I came across an article that had been written to congratulate me on winning the John Justin "Standard of the West" award this summer at the Texas FFA State Convention. The President of Justin Brands congratulated me on not only winning the John Justin Award, but also becoming Valedictorian of my class. He said I have a very bright future ahead of me at A&M and have set a positive example for incoming FFA members.
I read the article in disbelief. The words I read about myself were very different from the narrative that has been playing in my head for the past couple of weeks.
The same is true for you, friend.
Chances are, you have forgotten just how precious you are to Jesus. The lies you are hearing in your head are not true, and you have the power to take hold of God's truth and cling to it.
God has the number of hairs on your head numbered, and He brought you into this world just so He could love you and so that you could experience His faithfulness. How beautiful is that?!
I pray that you will join me in taking every thought captive and comparing it to the light of God's word.
Here is some scripture to encourage you:
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind
Proverbs 3: 5-6 -
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
1 John 1:5 - God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
I hope this helped you!
2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
James 1:17 - Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Love,
Breanna <3
